Chickpea Soup (10+ Months)

I chose this soup for the program of dear Zahide Yetiş. A very different flavor. This delicious soup is also suitable for the taste of adults. When our children have diarrhea, let them have a liquid, warm soup alternative other than mashed potatoes, this different flavor. . 

Note:  I do not recommend this soup when children are constipated. You can use normal water or broth as water.


  • 1 cup of yellow chickpeas
  • 2 tablespoons butter + 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 liter of water or broth
  • A pinch or two of salt (for ages 1+)

For the above

  • 3 slices of toast bread
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of sweet paprika powder.


  • Roast the chickpeas (or pound in a mortar) and sift until floury. Melt the butter in the pan and add the chickpea flour and fry it. Add cold broth or water. Cook the soup, stirring constantly with a whisk.
  • Flavor with salt. For the topping, dice the toast breads. Crispy in the oven or pan.
  • Depending on the consistency of the soup, add hot water if necessary. Bring to a boil and distribute on serving plates.
  • Add the toasted bread. Add powdered red pepper to the melted butter and serve by pouring over the soup.
